Jackie has been working within the Caerphilly locality since 1999, initially as a Community Pharmacist in Blackwood. From 2004, she worked as a Prescribing Advisor for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and as an Advanced Practice Prescribing Pharmacist at Oakfield Surgery, Ystrad Mynach.

Jackie holds an MSc in Respiratory Medicine. Her main clinical interest is respiratory disease, with a particular focus on sustainable respiratory prescribing and quality improvement work that benefits both patients and the environment.

As part of wider Advance Care Planning work, Glan yr Avon Residential Care and Nursing Home has achieved the Improving Quality Together (IQT) Silver Award.

Funding has been awarded to Communities First to deliver X-POD, a six-week health prevention and education programme for people with pre-diabetes or those wishing to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Communities First also deliver Foodwise, an eight-week weight management programme developed by Public Health Dietitians in Wales and linked to the Welsh Government Change4Life campaign.
